ThemediumreactivityofD.E.H.81EpoxyCuringAgentcanbeincreasedorreducedbysubstitutingpartofthehardenerwithD.E.H.82orD.E.H.80EpoxyCuringAgentrespectively.ThecuringacceleratorpresentinD.E.H.81EpoxyCuringAgenttendstopromotecatalyticcross-linkingoftheepoxyresinduringbaking.Forthisreason,itissuggestedthata20%molarexcessofepoxyresinoverthehardenermaybeusedwhenformulatingwithD.E.H.81EpoxyCuringAgentinordertoproducecuredcoatingswithoptimumproperties.
